🌱

Plants

Roots absorb water. Stems support the plant. Leaves use light to help make food.

🌍

Earth

Earth rotates about once every 24 hours. That rotation gives us day and night.

💧

Water

Water can exist as a solid, liquid or gas. Heating and cooling can change its state.

🧲

Magnets

Magnets can attract some metals such as iron. Every magnet has two poles.

Our Body

The heart pumps blood. Lungs help us breathe. The brain helps coordinate the body.

☀️

Light & Shadow

Light travels from a source. An object blocking light can create a shadow.

Learning guide

Turn each science card into a small observation

The six science snapshots introduce everyday ideas about plants, Earth, water, magnets, the human body, light and shadow. The goal is not to memorise a paragraph; it is to connect one fact with something a child can notice, describe or safely test.

Try these parent-guided prompts

  • Plants: look at a leaf and identify the stem and veins.
  • Earth: compare daylight and night-time routines and discuss why the sky changes.
  • Water: observe an ice cube melting and name the solid and liquid states.
  • Magnets: with an adult, test a few safe household objects and sort them into attracted/not attracted.
  • Body: feel the heartbeat before and after light movement.
  • Light: use a lamp and an object to see how the shadow changes when distance changes.

How to use the quiz

Read one or two topic cards first, then take the 10-question quiz. If an answer is wrong, return to the related card and explain the idea in your own words before trying again. This keeps the quiz connected to understanding instead of guesswork.
