Use worksheets as one part of practice

Printable or on-screen worksheets can be useful when a child needs to slow down and show a process, but they do not need to fill the whole learning session. Pair a worksheet with a game, real objects, drawing or conversation so the same idea appears in more than one format.

Choose a small amount

One focused page is often enough. If the child understands the first few examples, extra repetition may not add much. If they are struggling, stop and explain the idea with something concrete before returning to the page.

Review together

Instead of marking only right and wrong answers, ask which question felt easiest and which one needed the most thinking. This can show where to practice next without making the worksheet feel like a test.
