Playing Treasure Tag vs Computer

Treasure Tag is a collection race against a computer-controlled explorer. Treasure raises the score, while bombs punish careless routes. Because both characters compete for the same area, players need to decide whether to chase a nearby treasure or move toward a safer cluster.

Goal and controls

The goal is to collect more treasure than the computer while avoiding bombs. Move with Arrow keys or W A S D. The computer explorer moves independently.

Strategy as the CPU gets harder

The best path is not always the shortest path. Crossing the middle can give access to more treasure, but it can also place the player near bombs or the CPU route. As difficulty rises, planning two pickups ahead becomes more useful than turning toward every new item immediately.

What children can practice

The game can support spatial awareness, route planning and quick prioritisation. It gives children a simple example of choosing between reward and risk without requiring complex rules.

Three practical tips

  • Look for two nearby treasures that can be collected in one smooth route.
  • Do not follow the CPU into a crowded area if a safer pickup is available elsewhere.
  • When a bomb blocks the direct path, take the wider route instead of squeezing past it.
